Charity Cricket Match
19th August 2010
There are 4 good reasons why you should come to support the cricket match I am organising on September 10th at Walker Cricket Ground, Waterfall Road, Southgate.
Click here for poster and details
1. To raise money for three good causes- North London Hospice, who are building a new day care centre in Barrowell Green; the Evening Standard's 'Dispossessed Fund'; the establishment of a 'Good Samaritan Network' to support local people with problems of addiction and mental health.
2. To see my 'all stars' cricket team, including MPs, try and overcome a Southgate cricket team in the beautiful setting of Walker Cricket Ground. 'Twenty twenty' match starts at 5pm.
3. To hear former England captain, Test Match special commentator, and local cricket hero Mike Gatting give live commentary on the match. This will be an ideal time to find out what England need to do to win the Ashes in Australia from the last England captain to do so.
4. To enjoy the umpiring of the provocative journalist, broadcaster and author Richard Littlejohn. Come and also listen to Richard as he gives us his after match views at approximately 8pm.
If for some extraordinary reason you can't come, please do at least support the event by sending donations to me with cheques made payable to 'Southgate Supper Club' which will be distributing 70% of the funds to North London Hospice and the remainder to the 'Dispossessed Fund' and Enfield's 'Good Samaritan Network'.
