Burrowes pledges support for new school in old town hall and Palmers Green library site

29th January 2010

Today David Burrowes MP joined with local Councillors and Conservative Council candidates to welcome the following assurances secured from Council leader Mike Rye:

  • A bigger and better Palmers Green library with the same access for parking.
  • New library to open in Autumn 2010.
  • Feasibility study to consider community use for the old town hall and library site, including as a new primary school.

David Burrowes MP said: "One of my pledges in the forthcoming election is to improve community facilities. We already have a commitment from Boris and the Council to restore Broomfield House, and now I am delighted that the Council has listened to us and will ensure that the new library is bigger and better. There is a shortage of primary school places in Enfield and the old town hall and library site will be considered for a new primary school."
